I. Integrative Bioengineering of Heart, Vessels and Blood, Multiple PI: Andrew McCulloch, Shu Chien, Marcos Intaglietta, Geert Schmid-Schoenbein
Trains engineering, biomedical, and physician scientists for multidisciplinary research on the integrative bioengineering aspects of cardiovascular functions in health and disease.
II. Training in Multi-scale Analysis of Biological Structure and Function, PI Andrew McCulloch Training a new generation of multi-disciplinary scientist with state of the art technology-centered hands-on graduate laboratory course curriculum emphasizing integrative and quantitative analysis across multiple scales of biological organization from molecule to organism in health and disease. Students earn an Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Specialization in Multiscale Biology
III. Predoctoral Training in Translational Musculoskeletal Research. PI Robert Sah Supports outstanding young investigators to conduct research at the intersection of clinical musculoskeletal medicine and surgery and bioengineering science and technology. Each trainee has two mentors, one basic and one clinical. Each trainee takes a group of musculoskeletal graduate courses. Trainees develop interdisciplinary background and research skills, bridging the bench and bedside.
