Description:
The Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD) Program at MUSC is an NIH-funded training program committed to increasing the participation of under-represented groups in the biomedical sciences at the PhD level. IMSD scholars are selected from incoming PhD students based on interest in the program and application materials. Scholars can participate in any of our interdisciplinary research areas in the biomedical sciences. Current stipends while supported by the training program are 25,000/year, with paid tuition, health insurance, and travel opportunities. The components of the program include a summer pre-matriculation course, peer mentoring, workshops and career development opportunities.
