Description:
The Chemistry REU Program is located in the Chemistry Department at Kansas State University. A major goal of the Chemistry REU Program is to provide research opportunities for students who have had limited exposure to independent research at their home institution. Students spend ten weeks conducting chemistry related research projects under the guidance of experienced researchers. In addition to the research experience, the students will also learn about and use the various types of instrumentation critical to chemists, gain a better understanding of the nature of science, and learn how to write up and present their research results. Accommodations and meals are paid for by the program. Participants also receive a stipend of $5,200 and a travel reimbursement of up to $750. Students may also have the opportunity to travel to a national chemistry conference and present their results.
