Since 1994, the Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP) has offered student summer internships for Native American and other college students with funding from a variety of sources. Our three separate internship programs provide the opportunity for students to gain hands-on skills with EPA or other governmental and tribal environmental offices in Air Quality, Climate Change, and Water Resources & Land Management in the Colorado River Basin. Please explore our programs at our website to learn more about each program. We are expecting to place 30 interns throughout the three programs.

The internships are designed to allow current college students to: Assist EPA/Tribal agencies/NGOs with environmental issues; Acquire new skills in a work environment: Gain work experience while contributing to a project; Earn $6,400 during the 8-week experience; Receive a housing allowance; Receive a travel allowance.
