Description:
The Tuskegee University AgriTREK and SciTREK Summer Institutes are residential two -week summer outreach experiences in agricultural and related sciences, including engineering, biology, chemistry and more, that allow high school students the opportunity to gain valuable educational and career information through leadership training and experiential learning. The goals of these programs are to addressed the need to increase the pool of historically under-represented, under-served, students who will be prepared to enter and complete post-secondary studies in science, technology, engineering, agriculture and mathematics, lending to a more diverse and globally competent workforce for the 21st century. Since 2004, almost 400 high school students have participated in these programs, many of whom have obtained or are currently pursuing careers in agriculture and related sciences at universities and colleges across the country.
