Description:
CSDMS is a science gateway offering community networking and research activities, software products and educational training to the geoscience earth surface modeling community. Each year CSDMS offers a student scholarship competition to attend the CSDMS Annual Meeting (generally held over 3 days in May) at the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. The meeting is attended by national and international geoscientists and includes keynote presentations and training clinics. Ten to 12 scholarships are available each year for students who are chosen from the applicant pool. The scholarship includes travel support (up to $600), hotel support, meals and full registration reimbursement. Please check our web site in December each year for the student scholarship competition announcement.

The Fisk-Vanderbilt Master’s-to-PhD Bridge Program focuses on increasing the number of underrepresented minorities in astronomy, biology, chemistry, materials science and physics. Students work towards the Master’s degree at Fisk with the intention to enter a PhD program at Vanderbilt or elsewhere, with access to instructional and research opportunities at both institutions.
