an IBP member program

Academic Level:
Post-Baccalaureate

Description:
BioGEM is a postbaccalaureate program committed to training scholars in research that integrates biodiversity science with genetic evolutionary mechanisms. The program provides financial support for recent college graduates who have limited to no prior research experience. Scholars engage in interdisciplinary projects that study how organisms, populations, and species respond to their past and present environment and how genetic mechanisms equip organisms to respond to future environmental change. Scholars work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of mentors.
