Undergraduates - Junior
Description: The LEADER Program, a paid 9-week program at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy, will allow rising junior or senior undergraduate students from Texas' Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) to receive on-site high quality "hands on" research experiences and mentoring with the goal of increasing applications from students from Texas HBCUs and HSIs into the graduate programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences, M.S., and Ph.D., associated with the College of Pharmacy. Participating faculty mentors come from several of the college's divisions and have demonstrated experience training and mentoring undergraduate students.
Program will run daily Monday to Friday, Activities include:
-Hands on research experience in one of the college divisions
-Tours of Research Facilities
-Faculty led research presentations
-Best practices for graduate program applications (M.S. and Ph.D.)
-Graduate student presentation and reflection on rewards/triumphs & lessons learned.
-Cultural and social activities
Stipend, Housing, Transportation & Meals: Stipend of $3,000; Single Room accommodations in a modern dorm on campus, Meal plan, bus system and parking included.
