Bridge scholars are hired as full-time Columbia University research assistants (RAs) for up to 23 months and conduct research under the mentorship of faculty members, post-doctoral researchers, and graduate students. The salary for Bridge RAs is set at $40,600/year. The Bridge Program provides scholars with $1,500 per year to support professional and educational expenses (examples include travel to professional conferences and the purchase of textbooks), and are eligible for benefits. Note: the salary and education stipend will be $52,500 and $2,000, respectively for Bridge scholars in economics.
Course Information: Bridge scholars enroll in one to two undergraduate and/or graduate courses per semester that are related to their future field of study. The Bridge Program also organizes a number of professional and academic development workshops, provides GRE test preparation, and partners with the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science to ensure success while at Columbia University and to facilitate a successful transition into graduate studies.
