The Penn State Drawdown Research Experience for Undergraduates Program (Drawdown Scholars) supports the Drawdown mission by training students in:
-Technical, ecological, and social strategies to reverse global warming
-Environmental policy
-Science communication
-Professional development.
Drawdown Scholars will work closely with Penn State faculty mentors and their respective graduate students to conduct laboratory, field, and/or modeling research to advance Drawdown strategies for reversing global warming in the following topic areas:
-Buildings
-Coastal and ocean sinks
-Electricity
-Engineered sinks
-Food, agriculture, and land use
-Health and education
-Industry
-Land sinks
-Transportation.
Along with a once-in-a-lifetime research experience, Drawdown Scholars will also receive the following:
-$525/week stipend
-On-campus housing
-Travel reimbursement up to $300 for those in need.
