About us
The program begins with a one-week series of workshops, in which students are introduced to techniques and approaches used to study plant and plant pathogen cells, including genetics, molecular biology, genomic and bioinformatic analyses, and confocal microscopy. During the first week students also hear presentations by potential faculty mentors, and select their home labs for the remaining nine weeks of the summer. During the remaining nine weeks of the program, students participate in workshops to enhance learning skills and their professional development, in addition to conducting laboratory research.
