About us
Interns receive a stipend of $650 per week, as well as on-campus housing and the cost of travel to and from Seattle.
Interns work closely with their mentors, often within the context of a research team, to conduct projects related to the students' specific interests. Depending on the project, the summer may involve hands-on experience in the field, laboratory, or both.
At the end of the summer interns participate in a mini research symposium. They design and display a research poster to discuss the results of their project. They also create a short video summarizing their experience. The event is open to the entire CICOES community as well as family and friends.
There are also weekly professional development seminars featuring guest speakers on topics such as the graduate school experience, best practices in science communication, effective research poster design.
