About us
At Washington State University, we are in the second year of our new program to send a group of 6 students from across the US each summer to the University of Strathclyde, UK, for a total of 8 weeks to perform research relevant to smart grid and the electric power system. The University of Strathclyde hosts of the largest power programs in Europe, has a top program on energy and environment, and enjoys strong collaborations with industry. This program will provide you with experience in international research and helps you be part of the next generation of U.S. competitive STEM workforce capable of innovation. If you are selected for this program, you will also receive close research mentorship by our collaborators from the University of Strathclyde, visit several partner industries, attend seminars, participate in two professional development workshops, and present your research results in a campus-wide poster symposium.
We will cover the cost of the trip (airfare and room) and you will additionally receive a $500/week stipend. The program is open to U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents (NSF requirement).
