Description:
The GRAD-MAP winter workshop is a week-long, free virtual workshop for MSI and Community College undergrads to build programming and research skills.

You will:

- Learn scientific Python for data analysis and computational programming

- Work with a mentor to solve a unique challenge in astronomy/physics

- Attend seminars on research career options, application tips, & science communication

- Connect with peers and scientists in the field!

Applicants who have little to no experience in Python are strongly encouraged to apply.

Students accepted to our winter workshop will have the opportunity to apply for a paid 10-week summer research internship!

GRAD-MAP is an undergrad program that provides professional development and research opportunities in applied math, astronomy and physics to students at Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) and Community Colleges. Its goal is to improve the representation of, and climate for, historically marginalized groups in the fields of astronomy and physics.
