Academic Level: Postdoc & Early Career
Description: The Institute for Advanced Computational Science offers a limited competition awarding up to 2 postdoctoral fellows per year. Postdoctoral Fellowships are intended for outstanding candidates with recent PhDs who wish to conduct computational-related research at the Institute under the mentorship of core or affiliate IACS faculty researchers.
Postdoctoral Fellows at IACS will play a strong role in the overall life of the institute, which is comprised of 13 core and ~45 affiliate faculty spanning chemistry, materials by design, condensed matter, astrophysics, atmospheric science, nanoscience, linguistics, ecology, applied mathematics, computer science, biomedical informatics, civil engineering, electrical and computer engineering, music, neurobiology and behavior, psychology, and sociology. The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to participate in full-time advanced research training under the general guidance of one or more faculty mentors, and the Fellow will be supported independently by IACS with a nationally competitive stipend.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will be provided medical benefits as well as an equipment/travel allowance of up to $10,000.
The IACS Postdoctoral Fellowship is a 2-year term with the option for renewal for one additional year subject to review of performance.
IACS Postdoctoral Fellows will be expected to participate fully in the research life at IACS, including, but not limited to, presenting at Research Day; attending and/or facilitating IACS seminars and brown bag lunches; leading educational workshops within their expertise; serving as a mentor for enrolled students; participating in professional development opportunities; and attending professional conferences on behalf of the institute.
Workspace will be provided within the institute.
