Description:
Data + Computing = Discovery! (DCD) is a 9-week summer research program for outstanding undergraduate students to gain experience in computational and data science. Hosted by Stony Brook University's Institute for Advanced Computational Science (IACS), participants will work with IACS faculty mentors on original research projects, build interdisciplinary communication skills, learn about careers in computational and data science, and enjoy a social summer on New York's beautiful Long Island.

The principal focus of DCD is computational and data science, where computer simulation and data analysis techniques are applied to many traditional fields. Check out potential projects on the Mentors page. Former experience with computer programming is not required; participants will learn and apply python tools throughout the summer.
