Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute (TBSI) is a collaborative research and education center of Tsinghua University and UC Berkeley. The faculty of these two top engineering and science academic institutions in the US and China are working together to establish an ecosystem for transformational technology research that address global challenges: Environment Science and New Energy Technology, Information Technology and Data Science, and Precision Medicine and Healthcare. The UC Berkeley faculty who are associated with TBSI is offering a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to join them in research. The TBSI Undergraduate Research Internship in Science & Engineering (URISE) at Berkeley will host undergraduates as summer research interns.

-Spend nine weeks pursuing independent research full‑time on a topic related to your major under the one-to-one mentorship of a UC Berkeley faculty member.

-Receive free housing and meal assistance on the UC Berkeley campus. The program will also cover transportation costs to and from UC Berkeley (up to $600).

-Receive a summer stipend of $4,000.

-Meet and share your experiences with other researchers, Attend Seminars, recieve on-going support.
