Description: The Center for Hybrid, Active, & Responsive Materials at the University of Delaware welcomes applicants to our NSF MRSEC-sponsored Research Experience for Undergraduates. Our ten-week summer research program is designed for students who have interests in materials science-related research, especially those from historically underrepresented groups. Research topics are available in both experimental and computational soft and hard matter (i.e., peptide active materials and hybrid quantum materials). Students will be part of a layered research mentorship program as well as participate in academic career counseling, industry visits, and skills development in innovation & entrepreneurship.
Due to the interdisciplinary nature of this research, students applying to this program can come from a variety of majors: Materials Science & Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Computational Science, Chemical Engineering, and other related disciplines.
