Description: The Leadership Academy is an annual online summer program designed to advance the success of undergraduate students who are traditionally underrepresented in technology and engineering as they plan their own transition from college and internships to career. During the 6-week program, students develop professional skills including communication, building your own brand, negotiation skills, and leadership competencies. Students interact with and learn from career professionals in tech and engineering who are from diverse backgrounds, grow their own networks, and find internships and employment opportunities.
Students who participate in the Leadership Academy in summer have the opportunity to form mentorship relationships with one or more industry professionals during academic year.
The Leadership Academy is free of cost for students. We anticipate having scholarships available for students to offset any costs associated with attending the academy instead of working during that time.
Eligible students include those completing their Bachelor's degree in a tech or engineering field in a U.S. college/university who are Black, Indigenous and People of Color, including those from Latinx communities, women & gender minorities, LGBTQIA, first-generation college students, students who are differently abled, and other marginalized groups in STEM. Last year, the Leadership Academy welcomed students from 16 different institutions within Massachusetts, this year we have expanding eligibility to all students nationally.
