Note: this opportunity encourages applications from community college students.Description: The Center for Computer-Assisted Synthesis (C-CAS) is a National Science Foundation-supported Phase II Center for Chemical Innovation dedicated to research at the intersection of organic chemistry and computer science.
C-CAS is offering summer undergraduate research fellowships to current undergraduate students to do research at one of the fifteen partner universities of C-CAS (University of California-Berkeley, Colorado State, Notre Dame, Caltech, Carnegie Mellon, Colorado College, Pomona College, University of California- Los Angeles, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, American University, College of the Holy Cross, University of Tennesee-Knoxville, Occidental College, Whitman College & University of Utah). The program is open to any current undergraduate students whose research interests are aligned with the topics covered by C-CAS (organic mechanism and synthesis, computational chemistry, and computer science). The hosting institutions are prepared to create and maintain suitable environments for the visiting fellows and meet all accessibility needs.
C-CAS provides a $7,000 stipend and a $3,000 housing allowance. Under the mentorship of a researcher at a C-CAS member institution, the fellows perform state-of-the-art research over the summer. At the end of the summer, each fellow will share their research via presentation.
